Premium Motorsports announced its primary sponsor for their No. 15 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Chevrolet Wednesday. Cryptocurrency trading company Troptions Corporation will sponsor the truck for the first four races, beginning in the NextEra Energy Resources 250 at Daytona Feb. 16.

Robby Lyons will be piloting the truck full-time and compete for NASCAR’s Sunoco Rookie of the Year honors.

“I was super pumped to hear Troptions has come on board. Cryptocurrency seems to be taking the world by storm so to have it come to our race team, the potential is huge for all of us,” Lyons said. “I’m excited for the opportunity to represent them at the track and to learn more about them and have them learn more about racing.”

Lyons ran the final two races of the season for Premium Motorsports, finishing 12th in his debut at Phoenix.

Aside from sponsorship, Troptions will also exchange its cryptocurrency to the multi-series race team.

Troptions will also be the associate sponsor during the first four Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series races with pending sponsorship for the remainder of the season.

“I’m looking forward to this new venture with Troptions which will be very good for the growth and continued development of our organization and for Troptions,” Premium Motorsports owner Jay Robinson said. “I’d like to thank www.RaceDaySponsor.com for partnering us with Troptions and their great staff for the 2018 season.”

Last season, the No. 15 team ran six out of the last seven races with Gray Gaulding competing in four, finishing no better than 25th at both Chicagoland and Loudon. The truck’s best effort was 11th at Phoenix with Jason Hathaway behind the wheel.

While the No. 15 team is a full-time entry, no word has been announced about the future of the No. 49 team and primary driver Wendell Chavous.

Premium Motorsports are seeking other primary sponsors for the remaining 19 races of the Truck Series schedule.
